Obituary

Funeral services for John Tom “Tommy” Breed, Jr., age 77, of Prattville, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024.

Mr. Breed passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at his home.

Survivors include his sons, John Christopher “Chris” Breed (Lauren) of Prattville and Patrick Breed; three grandchildren, Rayne Breed, Kol Breed, and Shelby Breed; and a brother, Mike Breed (Cathy) of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Breed, Kol Breed, Clay Claybrook and Mark Smith, Jr.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Breed was born on May 2, 1947, the son of John Tom, Sr. and Eris Maxine Bailey Breed. He retired after a distinguished career in the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam, earing the rank of Officer Major. Mr. Breed was Christian by faith and was a member of North Main Congregational Christian Church. He was an avid sports fan; he loved NASCAR, college football -Roll Tide- and the St. Louis Cardinals. Mr. Breed was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda Jean May Breed.
