OBITUARY Funeral services for Lou L. Siggers Davis, age 94, of Trussville, formerly of Wadley, will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Craig Marshall officiating. Burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the funeral home. Mrs. Davis died Thursday, October 11, 2012 at St. Vincent's East Hospital. Mrs. Davis is survived by two daughters, Larue Meadows of Trussville, Martha Campel of Greenwich, Conn; one son, Jimmy J. Davis of Snellville, GA; one sister, Ioan Green of Roanoke; two brothers, J. C. Siggers of Danville, VA and Richard Siggers of Florida; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Davis was born February 3, 1918, the daughter of John Clyde and Frances Cummings Siggers. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church for seventy-eight years and had been a homemaker. Mrs. Davis competed state-wide in the Senior Master Games winning many gold, bronze and silver medals for the State of Alabama. During WWII she was a member of "Rosie the Riveter" at Betchel McCombs Airport Hanger. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Birmingham and Roanoke branches. For over fifteen years she and her husband served as volunteers for the Pink Lady and Red Coat Auxilaries at Randolph County Hospital. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Davis; her parents; one son, Bobby G. Davis; three sisters, Willie Mae Melton, Loette Hill, Bernice Hester; five brothers, James Siggers, Walt Siggers, Arthur Siggers, Thomas Siggers and Charlie Siggers. Flowers will be accepted or donations to the following: Trussville Senior Center, 504 Cherokee Dr. Trussville, AL 35173, Gentivia Hospice, 2084 Valley Dale Road, Birmingham, Al, 35244.
