Obituary
Funeral services for Dillion Cole Wheeles, age 30, of Wadley, will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Corinth Christian Church with Bro. Ricky Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM before services begin on Monday.
Dillion passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, in Cleburne County.
Survivors include his mother, Vanessa “Van” Wheeles of Wadley; a brother, Waylon Wheeles (Christie) of Lineville; two nephews, Garrett Wheeles (Holly) and Will Wheeles; a niece, Craven Wheeles; an aunt, Fran Cassiano (Chad) of Alex City; several cousins, great-aunts, and great-uncles.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Wheeles, Will Wheeles, Richard Tillis, Dale Hay, Sturgis Messer, and Pete Stewart.
A lifelong Randolph County resident, Dillion was born on July 26, 1994, the son of Bennett Wayne and Vanessa “Van” Stewart Wheeles. He was Christian by faith and had attended Corinth Christian Church. After graduating from Wadley High School as salutatorian in 2012, Dillion worked as a mail carrier for the Wadley Post Office. He was a true outdoorsman and always enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding four-wheelers. Dillion’s greatest joy was his family; he always treasured the time he was able to spend with them. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Brandon Wheeles; maternal grandparents, Pierce and Joann Stewart; and paternal grandparents, Elmer and Kate Wheeles.
