Obituary of Margaret Lee Weathers

Funeral services for Margaret Lee Weathers, age 84, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Lee Knight and Laura Bohlander officiating.  Burial will follow at White’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Mrs. Weathers passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA, after a short illness.

Survivors include: a loving and devoted son, Mark Reese Weathers of Roanoke; her special loving & caring niece, Denise McDow Wilson (Greg) of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Linda Brown (Jim); brother-in-law, Bonnie Weathers (Peggy); and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends and nephews.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Weathers was born on March 2, 1940, the daughter of James Pemiliton and Myrtis Brown Mitchell.  She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and worked as a computer operator for May & Co. and also as a banker for the Georgia State Patrol Credit Union.  Mrs. Weathers was a huge Alabama fan, Roll Tide, and she enjoyed life and was always the life of the party.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Reese Weathers; a son, James Barry Weathers; sisters, Joyce Denham, Sarah Knight, Barbara McDow, and Kathryn Vinson; and in-laws, Elizabeth Traylor, Oliver Weathers, John D. Weathers, David Weathers, and Carolyn Nappier.

Memorials may be floral.
