Obituary

Lamar Neighbors, age 82, of Roanoke passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jones Neighbors; one daughter, Cheryl Neighbors, of LaGrange, GA; two stepchildren, Lane Yarbrough of Wedowee and Leigh Holloway of Roanoke; one sister, Norma Kistler, of Franklin; 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

A Heard County, Georgia native, Mr. Neighbors was born on May 26, 1942, the son of Lewis and Evelyn Crawford Neighbors. He was Christian by faith and was a member of Sunset Baptist Church in LaGrange. Mr. Neighbors was a faithful fan of the Atlanta Falcons, he watched them every Sunday. He was a family man who cared deeply for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Mr. Neighbors will be deeply missed, and his sense of humor fondly remembered. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Cherise Neighbors and Keith Neighbors; a grandchild, Jacob Daniel Fowler; and two brothers, Donald Neighbors and Kenneth Neighbors.
