Funeral services for Dwight Blackmon, age 61, of Roanoke, will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro.  Ricky Emery and Bro. Keith Benefield officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home on Thursday, October 10th, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mr. Blackmon passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown, Columbus, Georgia.

Survivors include his father, Jimmy Blackmon;  three daughters, Nicole (Caleb) Dabbs of Roanoke, Crystal (Steve) Peace of Tallapoosa, GA, and Mary Earnest of Roanoke; one son, Timothy (Nikki) Blackmon of Wedowee; and grandchildren: Deven, Brayden, Austin, Ethan, Luke, Callie, Aubrie, Axel, Weston, Whitley, Brooklyn, Hayden, Talia, Jordyn, Emma, Brianna and Kyla; and one great grandchild, Roman.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Blackmon was born September 28, 1963, the son of James F. “Jimmy” and Opal Farr Blackmon. He had previously worked at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers. He had attended Midway Full Gospel Church in Roanoke. He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Kyle Blackmon.
