OBITUARY Funeral services for Mack Colley Diamond, age 75, of Roanoke, will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, October 18, 2012, from the First Baptist Church of Roanoke with Rev. Ben Bailie officiating. Mr. Diamond will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 17th, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Colton Diamond, Joseph Diamond, Rusty Norred, Mark Knight, Kevin Whaley and Wayne Brown. Mr. Diamond died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his home. Mr. Diamond is survived by his wife, Suellen Smith Diamond of Roanoke; one daughter, Carol Akridge and husband John of Waycross, GA; two sons, George Diamond and wife Denise of Roanoke, Bradley Diamond and wife Ramona of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Luke Colley Akridge, Abby Akridge, Bradley Colton Diamond, Ansley Diamond, Benjamin Colley Diamond, Emilee Diamond, Joseph Walker Diamond; one sister, Martha Ellen Diamond of Greenville; three brothers, Bill Diamond of Fairhope, Wesley Diamond of Mobile, Paul Diamond of Ellijay, GA. Mr. Diamond was born November 19, 1936, the son of Walter Allen, Sr. and Ferrell Mae Colley Diamond . He was a member of the Roanoke First Baptist Church and owner of Mack Diamond Men & Boys Wear. Mr. Diamond served in the National Guard, was tax collector of Randolph County for four years and had been Probate Judge of Randolph County for fourteen years. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Allen Diamond.
