Carey Joe Bailey, age 87, of Roanoke, AL, passed away on October 15th, 2024.  He was born to James A. and Virginia Messer Bailey on November 23rd, 1936, in the Napoleon community of Randolph County.  He worked for Jeld Wen in Wedowee, AL, and retired from Milliken in LaGrange, GA. 

Mr. Bailey enjoyed playing Bingo with all his friends at Knollwood.  He enjoyed watching Western movies and loved feeding his cats ice water on the hot days of summer.  Mr. Bailey loved his family and was considered a special person.  He was active in church and loved gospel singing. 

Mr. Bailey is survived by his brother, Thomas Bailey of Alexander City, AL; his nieces, Wanda Mapp (Tom) of Smiths Station, AL, Devona Faust (Terry) of Wetumpka, AL, and Donna Hobbs (Todd) of Virginia; his nephews, Thomas R. Bailey, Jr (Donna) of Hope Hull, AL, James Bailey (Sharon) of Lowndes County, AL, Dennis Bailey (Judy) of West Virginia, and Jackie Ross Bailey (Sherry) of Alexander City, AL; and his special great-nephew and caretaker, James Mapp of Phenix City, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Bailey Harp; older brother, James Ray Bailey; and baby brother, Jackie Blake Bailey.
