OBITUARY
Funeral services for Mary Jim Hardy Wilkins, age 96, of Wadley, will be held Sunday, October 21, 2012, at 3:00 pm from Beulah Christian Church with Rev. Jack Womack and Rev. Phillip Gore officiating. Burial will follow at Wadley Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 20th. Mrs. Wilkins will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Mrs. Wilkins died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Wetumpka Health & Rehab.
Survivors include three daughters, Melinda Miller (Scott) of Montgomery, Dorcas Hammock of Duluth, Ga. and Phyllis Kenady (Dewell) of Wetumpka; one son, David Wilkins (Susan) of Wadley; one sister, Ann Tidwell of Wadley; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Scott Miller, Randy Kenady, Michael Hammock, Lyn Hammock, Sherwood Tidwell and Alan Taylor.
A lifelong Wadley resident, Mrs. Wilkins was born July 13, 1916 at Tallapoosa County, daughter of James Thomas and Oma Ovada Meigs Hardy. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and had owned/operated a plant nursery. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Madison Wilkins; a sister, Erma Smith; two brothers, Brannon Hardy and Heflin Hardy.
