Obituary of H. S. Whaley

OBITUARY Funeral services for H. S. Whaley, age 82, of Rock Mills, will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 11:00 am from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Scott Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 22nd. Mr. Whaley died Saturday, October 20, 2012, at his home. Survivors include two daughters, Robbie Whaley and Cindy Hester, both of Rock Mills; one granddaughter, Breanna Hester of Rock Mills; one sister, Velma Mitchell of Huntsville; two brothers, Pete Whaley of Roanoke and Harvis Whaley of Wedowee. Pallbearers will be Wayne Dobbs, Mike Whaley, Roger Hester, Cody Roberts, Larry Whaley and Mike Fisher. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Whaley was born May 27, 1930, the son of Ruben A. and Willie Mae Oats Whaley. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and had been employed at Dunkin M. Stewarts.
