OBITUARY
Funeral services for Alzada Nelson Kirby, age 90, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, October 29, 2012, at 11:00 am from White's Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Don Quick officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 28th.
Mrs. Kirby died Saturday, October 27th at her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kirby Roberts of Roanoke and Loleta Fincher (John) of Opelika; three sons, Jim C. Kirby (Melissa) of Roanoke, Willie C. Kirby, Jr. (Patty) of Wadley and William C. Kirby (Elaine) of Auburn; 13 grandchildren including Michelle Walls, Christina McDaniel, Jennifer Wood, Nikki Kirby, Ashley Kirby and Ariel Kirby; 19 great-grandchildren including Hunter, C. J. & Jenna Wood, Lexi & Trey Walls, Kinsley & Macie McDaniel; 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Wood, Sam Walls, Brandon McDaniel, Todd Kirby, Wayne Roberts and Robert Applebee. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Wood, C. J. Wood and Trey Walls.
A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Kirby was born August 25, 1922, daughter of I. Hardy and Ethel Brewer Nelson. She was a homemaker and a member of White's Chapel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Kirby; two sisters, Mary Nelson and Pauline Davis.
Memorials may be floral or the family suggests contributions to White's Chapel Cemetery Fund.
