Obituary of Robert Earl Alexander

OBITUARY Funeral services for Robert Earl Alexander, age 86, of Roanoke, will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2012, from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Martin Barlow. Mr. Alexander will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial to follow in adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mr. Alexander died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Wedowee Hospital. Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Rena Skinner Alexander of Roanoke; one daughter, Bertha Anne Brown of Roanoke; one son, Alton A. Alexander of Roanoke; one step-daughter, Bonnie Carson of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Oliver Carson, Richard Alexander, Christopher Cauley, Daniel Cauley, Lisa Brown and Tyler Brown; one sister, Ruby King of Birmingham. Mr. Alexander was born July 26, 1926, the son of Emmett A. and Barbara West Alexander. He had worked as a Loom Fixer for Handley Mills and served in the United States Navy during WWII.
