Funeral services for Hershell Junior Richardson, age 79, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tim Whaley and Benji Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Thursday before services begin.

Mr. Richardson passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at his son’s house in Roanoke.

Survivors include: two daughters, Wanda Michelle Driver (Larry) and Zane Martin; two sons, Timothy Hershell Richardson and Fabian Chester Richardson; four grandchildren, Carrie Owens, Cody Watson, Jeremy Egdmon, and Aylssia Richardson; five great-grandchildren, Colton Owens, Jackson Watson, Kenyze Watson, Priscilla Watson, and William Watson; his girlfriend of 31 years, Debra Martin; three sisters, Judy Randall, Diane Terry, and Myrtle Heard; and one brother, Jimmy Richardson.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Richardson was born on October 3, 1945, the son of Kaylor and Vera Wood Richardson.  He worked in machine maintenance and was a supervisor at Milliken before retiring.  Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Marion Richardson, Sherrell Richardson, Flay Richardson, and Ray Richardson; and two sisters, Jewell Fisher and Lurline Cole.

Memorials may be floral.
