Obituary of Thelma Hester

Funeral services for Thelma Alene Hester , age 82 , of Roanoke, will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Big Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Whaley and Rev. Scott Hannah officiating. Burial will follow in adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Corey Butler, T.J. Rushton, Chad Barentine, Casey Hester, Jeremy Butler, Justin Causey, and Jagar Anthony Mrs. Hester died Monday, November 12, 2012, at Roanoke Healthcare. She is survived by two sons, Ricky (Alesia) Hester and Don (Babs) Hester, both of Roanoke, three daughters Jennifer (Michael) Vinson of Birmingham, Phyllis (Joey) Hodges of Roanoke and Rosemary (Michael) Morman of Roanoke, one sister Ruth Harper of Opelika, and one brother Lynn Chase of Roanoke, twenty grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Hester was born December 19, 1929, in Randolph County, AL the daughter of Benjamin and Etta Anderson Chase. She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Millard Ottis Hester and one granddaughter Aleisha Hester.
