Obituary of Marie Cofield Brown

OBITUARY Funeral services for Marie Brown, age 88, of Roanoke, will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Sledge and Rev. Jeff Burns officiating. Mrs. Brown will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rodney Brown, Alex Holland, Kevin Bailey, Meacham Bailey, Chris May and Terry Royster. Mrs. Brown died, Monday, January 7, 2013 at Traylor Retirement Community. Mrs. Brown is survived by three sons, Terry Brown of Wedowee, Freddie Brown & wife Alice of Roanoke, Jason Brown & wife Kasha of Auburn; one sister, Barbara Barker of Oxford; one brother, Bill Cofield of Morrison Crossroads; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was born February 19, 1924, the daughter of Roy Earnest and Dora Loveless Cofield. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was owner/operator of Marie's Fabrics. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Brown; her parents; five brothers, Loveless Cofield, Roy Cofield, Jr., Frank Cofield, Taft Cofield, Jacky Cofield; two sisters, Isabelle Gentry, Helen Brown.
