Obituary of Mary Jeanette Pike

Funeral services for Mary Jeanette Pike, age 98, of Roanoke, will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013, at 2 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 12th. Mrs. Pike died Friday, January 11, 2013, at Traylor Nursing Home. Survivors include her son, Sonny Pike (wife, Sue) of Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Pike of Dallas, GA; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Richard Pike, Jr., Alan Pike, David Pike, Jacob Pike, Chance Pike, and Brenton Widener. A resident of Roanoke most of her life, Mrs. Pike was born January 23, 1914, in Chambers County, the daughter of Jessie Byron and Lillie Williams Still. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had been employed as a winder and spinner with Handley Mills. Mrs. Pike was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Huey Pike; one son, Richard Pike; her parents; eleven brothers and sisters.
