OBITUARY A memorial service for Rosalyn Royston Moore, age 85, of Gulf Breeze, FL, will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 10:00 am, from the First United Methodist Church in Eufaula, with Dr. Robbins Sims officiating. Friends may call at Quattlebaum Funeral Home on Thursday, January 24th from 1:00 pm, to 2:00 pm. Immediately following, a graveside service, at Cedarwood Cemetery, will be performed by Rev. Ralph Barrow and co-officiated by Mrs. Moore's grandson, Andrew Pitts. Mrs. Moore passed away peacefully with her family Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Joyce Goldenberg Hospice, Pensacola, FL. Fondly known as "Mother" Moore by family and friends, she is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Moore Pitts of Gulf Breeze, FL; three grandchildren, Andrew Pitts (Amber), Rosalyn Pitts Puzey (Jerry), both of Los Angeles, CA and Lewis Thomas Pitts of Gulf Breeze; great grandchildren, Ella Puzey and Quinn Pitts; one sister, Marilyn Pearson (Chuck) of Lexington, VA; one brother, Frank Royston (Debbie) of Roanoke. Mrs. Moore was born July 22, 1927, the daughter of Willie Frank and Zada Taylor Royston. She spent her youth in Roanoke and following graduation from Handley High School in 1944, she attended and graduated from Andrew College and attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, LA and Auburn University. Following marriage to Lewis Moore, Jr., she resided in Eufaula, where she was active in various social clubs and civic activities. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Thomas Britt Moore. Condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.
