Obituary of James Edward Carson

Funeral services for James Edward Carson, age 89, of Wadley, will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Johnny Bishop and Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial to follow in Concord Primitive Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the funeral home. Mr. Carson died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Bethany House. Mr. Carson is survived by his wife, Rose Carson of Roanoke; two sons, William Carson and Dan Carson both of Wadley, one brother, Kerwin Carson of Marbury; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Carson was born June 22, 1923, the son of Jim and Exah Hughes Carson. He was a WWII Army veteran, a member of Abanda Methodist Church, and a former employee of Probuilt in Wedowee as a machine operator.
