Obituary of Jessie Maxine Taft

OBITUARY Funeral services for Jessie Maxine Taft, age 92, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, will be held Friday, March 29, 2013, at 1:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Taft officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 am on Friday. Mrs. Taft died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Crossfield Place in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Harris (Jim) of Hermitage, Tn.; one sister, Betty Cobb (Harold) of LaGrange, Ga.; three grandchildren, Kelley Holloway (Jeremy), Hannah Earl (Ryan) and Alex Williams; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robbie Hill, Gary Gillespie, Wayne Cobb, Alex Williams, Joe Taft and Wallace Burson. A Randolph County resident most of her life, Mrs. Taft was born August 25, 1920 at Heard County, Georgia, daughter of Willie and Lavada Harry Yates. She attended Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene and had been employed with Wehadkee Yarn Mills and Handley Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Woodrow Taft; one daughter, Selena Taft Williams; a granddaughter, Nicole Harris; two brothers, Aubrey Yates and Lawrence Yates.
