OBITUARY
Funeral services for George E. Howard, age 89, of Musella, GA, will be held 3:00 pm, Friday, March 20, 2013, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Fuller officiating. Burial to follow in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Howard, Levi Robinson, Zachary Merritt, Jason Campbell, Clint Norred and Lon Howard.
Mr. Howard died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Oaks at Peake, Macon,GA.
Mr. Howard is survived by his children, Grover E. Howard and wife Denise of Green Cove Springs, FL, Sandra Thompson of Musella, GA, Gwen Kight and husband Terry of Musell, GA, Shannon Tharpe and husband DeWayne of Byron, GA, Cliff Howard and wife Juanita of Musella, GA; brothers, Holley Howard and wife Letha Mae, Herman Howard and wife Jackie, Emmett Howard and wife Loette all of Rock Mills; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to The Oaks at Peake Family and Wanda, Tina and Marla with United Hospice.
Mr. Howard was born in Randolph County, December 4, 1923, son of the late George Wiliford Howard and the late Ruthie Ida Laws Howard. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army Air Corp in the Phillipines. Moving to Macon, GA in 1955, he was a skilled electrician formerly employed with Allied Chemical Company and Armstrong World Industries, where he served as President of Local Union 461. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Lizella, GA. The family may be contacted at the residence of Gwen and Terry Kight, Musella, GA.
