Obituary of Alvin Joseph Foster

OBITUARY Funeral services for Alvin J. "Jay Bird" Foster, age 87, of Rock Mills, will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Foster and Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Freddy Boggs, Wayne Boggs, Adam Yarbrough, Stanley Yarbrough, Clark Benefield and Patrick George, Jr. Mr. Foster died, Sunday, March 31, 2013 at his home. Mr. Foster is survived by one daughter, Patsy F. Hamil and husband Jimmy of Franklin, GA; one grand-daughter, Jodie Putzek and husband Chris of Franklin, GA; two great grand-daughters, Kyli and Cori Patzek; one step-daughter; three step sons; one nephew; a host of step grand-children. Mr. Foster was born, January 21, 1926, the son of Joe and Ina Criswell Foster. He attended the Rock Mills Church of the Nazarene, had been local barber since 1953; and served in the United States Navy during WWII.
