Obituary of Albert Waites Kirby

Funeral services for Albert Waites Kirby, age 55, of Roanoke, will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jamie Taylor and Rev. Mike Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Paran Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 5th. Mr. Kirby died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at his home. Survivors include two daughters, Leanna Kirby and Mattie Kirby, both of Roanoke; two sons, Mark Kirby of Woodland and Tommy Kirby of Roanoke; a step-son, Stevie Bolt of Woodland; three grandchildren, Megan Kirby, Katelyn Kirby and Kiley Kirby; his mother, Geneva Kirby of Roanoke; two sisters, Debra Hill and Sandra Hassell, both of Roanoke; and a brother, Timothy Kirby, also of Roanoke. A Randolph County native, Mr. Kirby was born September 6, 1957, son of Weyburn and Geneva Pike Kirby. He was a member of Paran Baptist Church and had been employed with Dukes Electric in LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Harley Davidson Kirby.
