Funeral services for Oscar Verlin Blackmon, age 65, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Glass officiating. Burial will follow at Wehadkee Cemetery. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the funeral home.
Mr. Blackmon died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Blackmon is survived by one sister, Frances Pauline Patton of Leesburg, GA, and one brother, Ralph Denny Blackmon of Conyers, GA.
Mr. Blackmon was born October 23, 1947, son of James Lee and Lillie Mae Henderson Blackmon. He was Baptist by faith. Mr. Blackmon was preceded in death by his wife, Leola Burgess Blackmon, and his parents.
The family will accept flowers or donations to Mr. Blackmon's funeral expenses.
