Funeral services for Billy Ray Suddeth, age 64, of Roanoke, will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Glass officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 22nd.
Mr. Suddeth died Friday, June 21, 2013, at his home.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Rice of Roanoke; step-father, Wilson Cummings of Roanoke; twin sister, Betty Kelley (husband, Melvin) of Lanett; brother, Horace Cummings (wife, Angie) of Roanoke; special friend, Jackie Kimbar of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Marty Nicholson, Scott Nicholson, Sam Harris, Adam Smith, Timmy Smith and Melvin Kelley.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Suddeth was born September 5, 1948, son of John w. and Dovie Lee Mitchell Suddeth. He was a Vietnam War veteran and had been employed with Randolph County highway department and as a jailer for the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Sammy Cummings.
