Graveside services for Alma May, age 89, of Roanoke, will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Midway Cemetery at 2:00 pm with Rev. Zenus Windsor and Raymond Edmondson officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, August 14th. Miss May died Monday, August 12th at Wedowee Hospital after a short illness. Pallbearers will be Tommy Windsor, David Harmon, Darryl Harmon, Chick Piper, Shawn Lockwood, and Gary Waldrop. Survivors include two sisters, Velma Waldrop of LaGrange and Virginia Windsor of Wadley; several nieces and nephews. A Randolph County native, Miss May was born April 1, 1924, daughter of Acie and Willie Mae Abbott May. She was a member of Auslin Chapel and had been employed as a seamstress with Palm Beach. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Beulah Ingalls, Lucille May, Eula Hester, Wilma Wilkerson; two brothers, Bobby May and Vernon May.
