Obituary of Sara Jane Thomaston

Graveside services for Sara Jane Thomaston, age 75, of Roanoke, will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Veal Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery, Bowdon, at 11:00 am CST with Rev. Bobby Burroughs officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 14th. Mrs. Thomaston died Tuesday, August 13th , at her home. Pallbearers will be Adam Watson, Jarrett Spivey, Mickey Sudduth, and Darren Thomaston. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Thomaston of Roanoke; one daughter, Teresa Sudduth (husband, Mickey) of Roanoke; three sons, Darren Thomaston (Kay Dotson) of Anniston, Mike Thomaston (wife, Judy) of Hogansville, Larry Keller of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Nixon of Sycamore, GA. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Thomaston was born November 18, 1937, daughter of Joe and Sallie Gore Evans. She was a member of Veal Congregational Methodist Church and had been employed as a weaver with Amoco Fabrics. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Thomaston; one daughter, Sylvia Thomaston.
