Obituary of Runette McDaniel

Funeral services for Runette Perry McDaniel, age 84, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Vernon Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Highway Methodist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 16th. Mrs. McDaniel died Thursday, August 15th, at Wedowee Hospital. Pallbearers will be Bill Singleton, Jeffrey Campbell, Jody McDaniel, Timothy Boyd, Thomas Rollins, and James Watson. Survivors include two sons, Handley Gary McDaniel of Woodland and Phillip Mark McDaniel of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Randy McDaniel, Shannon McDaniel and Brandon McDaniel; three great-grandchildren, Morgan Smith, Kinsley McDaniel and Macy McDaniel; one brother, C.W. Perry of Roanoke. A Randolph County native, Mrs. McDaniel was born July 13, 1929, daughter of Cecil Walter and Limmer Woodard Perry. She was a member of Highway Methodist Church and had been employed as a presser with Palm Beach and Fashion Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manley McDaniel; her parents; great-grandson, Reid McDaniel; one sister, Verna McDaniel.
