Obituary of Betty Ann Strong

Funeral services for Betty Ann Strong, age 79, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, September 2, 2013, at 1:00 pm (CST) from Stateline Baptist Church with Rev. William Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 1st. Mrs. Strong will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 12:00 pm on Monday, September 2nd. Mrs. Strong died Thursday, August 29, 2013. Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Mae Thomas of Atlanta and Cynthia Bonner of Roanoke; three sons, Render Lee Owensby of Carrollton, GA, Albert Ray Owensby and Tony Goss both of Roanoke; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Mollie Beasley of Bowdon, GA; one brother, Robert Johnson of Atlanta. Pallbearers will be Reginald Zachary, Jeffrey Cameron, Ronald Thomas, Sr., Ronald Thomas, Jr., Luther McCray, and Terry Bonner. Mrs. Strong was born September 15, 1933, daughter of Charlie Inez and Charlie Jean Sanders Johnson. She was a member of Stateline Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Geraldine Strickland and Ruby Strickland; five brothers, Fletcher Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson, Willie James Johnson, Roosevelt Johnson, and Charlie Johnson, Jr.
