Obituary of Sara Anne Fannin

Funeral services for Sara Anne Weaver Fannin, age 70, of Roanoke, will be held Monday, September 2, 2013, at 2:00 pm from Handley Avenue Church of God with Rev. Shirley Meddick and Rev. Gary Baugh officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 1st. Mrs. Fannin died Friday, August 30, 2013, at UAB. Survivors include six daughters, Angie Woods (husband, Marshall) of Roanoke, Tammy Fowler (husband, Wayne) of LaGrange, Amy Logan (husband, Chris) of Oxford, Mindy Nesbitt (husband, Wil) of Oxford, Stephanie Fannin of Woodland, and Tiffanie Fannin of Alabaster; twenty-three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Shirah of Valley and Rachel Sudduth of Roanoke; four brothers, Bobby Weaver of Dalton, GA, Carroll Weaver of Blairsville, GA, Billy Weaver of Douglasville, and Glen Weaver of Douglasville. Mrs. Fannin was born January 12, 1943, daughter of Glen and Fannie McCormick Weaver. She attended Lowell United Methodist Church and had been employed as an accountant with Alabama Power Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Carr Fannin; one sister, Mae Bell; three brothers, Melvin Weaver, Cecil Weaver, and Charles Weaver.
