Funeral services for Charlie Ford Gann, age 87, of Roanoke, will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10:30 am from Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Burns and Rev. Frank Sledge officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 23rd. Mr. Gann died Saturday, September 21, 2013, at St. Vincent's St. Clair in Pell City. Survivors include one daughter, Belinda Jo Rowell (Keith) of Pensacola, FL; one son, Randall Ford Gann (Rhonda) of Vincent; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Almon of Roanoke; two brothers, Curtis Gann of Melbourne, FL, and Paul Gann of Capshaw, AL. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Trinity Baptist Church: Richard Corbett, Charles Mote, Eric Cummings, Mike Potts, Kevin Smith, Tommy Mitchum, and Ralph Wilder. Mr. Gann was born February 27, 1926, son of Cosby Garfield and Lela Willingham Gann. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and deacon emeritus, retired as a postmaster from Roanoke Post Office, and a decorated WWII Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jo Yarbrough Gann; one daughter, Sandra Jean Allen; one sister, Dolly Mae Slagle; one brother, Fred Gann. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Trinity Baptist Church (PO Box 705, Roanoke, AL 36274).
