Obituary of Nena Inez Davis

Funeral services for Nena Inez Davis, age 91, of Wadley, will be held Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Wadley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 3rd. Mrs. Davis died Friday, January 29, 2010, at Clay County Nursing Home in Ashland. Survivors include three sons, Cecil Davis and Bobby Davis of Wadley and Larry Davis of Hanford, Ca.; two brothers, Howard Calhoun of Wedowee and Curtis Calhoun of Wadley; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Scott Mask, Elliott Cotney, Mike Smith, Jerry Hall, Joseph Schoggins and Phillip Smith. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Davis was born September 13, 1918, daughter of Jerry E. and Viola Smith Calhoun. She was a member of Wadley First Baptist Church and had been employed as a seamstress with Clegg Manufacturing in Wadley for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William E. Davis; and 11 brothers and sisters.
