Funeral services for Jones Neil Caldwell, age 73, of Wadley will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013, at 2:00 PM from Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wadley with Rev. Richie Farrow and Rev. Alan Hurst officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, December 26, 2013.
Mr. Caldwell passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Trinity Hospital in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Caldwell of Wadley; two daughters, Holly (husband, Bob) Jones of Rainsville, AL, and Tracy (husband, George) Rodriguez of Wadley; one son, Brian Caldwell (wife, Sandy) of Wadley; two sisters, Mary (husband, Billy) Knight of Wadley and Sally (husband, Dale) Gilliland of Geraldine, AL; Reggie (wife, Jennifer) Caldwell of Wadley; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Josh Caldwell, Mitch Caldwell, Jerry Dye, Zane Mitchell, Ronnie Hester, and Chris Gilliland.
A Clay County native, Mr. Caldwell was born on April 30, 1940, the son of Jairl and John Jones Caldwell. He was a Deacon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wadley and was a truck driver for Eagle Straw. Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jo Ray; and three brothers, Max Caldwell, Donald Caldwell, and Harold Caldwell.
