Funeral services for Joan H. Ussery, age 72, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 12:30 PM from Paran Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Taft Officiating. Burial will follow at Paran Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, December 27, 2013.
Joan Ussery was 72 years old. She died unexpectedly at her home December 26, 2013. She was born December 24, 1941. She was a textile worker for many years.
Survivors include her daughter Joanie Purdy, Son-in-law Brad; Son, Robbie Ussery, daughter-in-law Christie; grandson Colby Ussery and granddaughter Hannah Ussery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sanford, daughter Sheena, and grandson J.B. Ussery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Sims, Chuck Norred, Brad King, Bud Johnson, Gerald Mitchell, and Jason Kitchens.
