Funeral services for Donald Joe Simons, age 59, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Benefield officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8th.
Mr. Simons passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Simons of Roanoke; four daughters, Crystal Simons and Kandy Cole (husband, Allen) of LaGrange, Tammy Tarwater of Newnan, and Donna Miller of Roanoke; his father, J.T. Simons; three sisters, Debbie Fowler of Atlanta, Lisa Simons and Donna Simons of Roanoke; one brother, Ronald Simons of Roanoke; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A LaGrange, Georgia native, Mr. Simons was born on May 27, 1954, the son of J.T. and JoAnn Williams Simons. He was an electrician with Muse Electric. Mr. Simons was preceded in death by his mother.
The family will accept flowers or contributions to Donald Simons Memorial Fund (c/o Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 319 College Street, Roanoke, AL 36274).
