Obituary of John Andrew Shaw

Funeral services for John Andrew Shaw, age 94, of Lanett, will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 2:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Milford McClain, Rev. Arlin Ashley, and Rev. Clinton Hadaway officiating. Burial will follow at Highway Memorial Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 1st. Mr. Shaw died Saturday, January 18, 2014, at West Georgia Hospice. Survivors include his wife, Katie Baldwin Shaw of Lanett; two daughters, Doris Shaw Jefferson of Roanoke and Linda Shaw of Becket, MA; one son, Bobby Hollis of Roanoke; one sister, Inez Stephens of Roanoke; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Shaw was born October 13, 1919, son of James and Molly Baldwin Shaw. He was a member of Fredonia Holiness Church and had been employed as a machinist with Batson and Cook and Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. Mr. Shaw was also a member of the Walling Ford, Connecticut, Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lera McDaniel Shaw; one grandson, Shawn Jefferson; ten brothers and sisters.
