Obituary of Vicie Stewart Jordan

Funeral services for Vicie Stewart Jordan, age 92, of Roanoke, will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014, at 3:00 pm from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 2:00 pm on Saturday. Mrs. Jordan died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Traylor Nursing Facility. Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Hawkins (husband, Joseph) of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Sonya Lanier, Pamela Ironside and Jeffrey Hodnett; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Stewart of Opelika. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Jordan was born April 22, 1921, in Woodland, the daughter of James Vinson Stewart and Erwin Clyde Hinton Stewart. She was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church since 1940 and had retired from the Palm Beach Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irvin Drane Jordan; four sisters, Jewell Harwell, Mary Daniel, Lora Dobson and Wilma Nelson; two brothers, Walter Stewart and Winston Stewart.
