Obituary of Virginia Dorthy Henry Pike

Funeral services for Virginia Dorthy Henry Pike, age 84, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 1:00 PM from Forest Home Christian Church with Rev. Stoney Halsey and Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 07, 2014. Mrs. Pike will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday. Mrs. Pike passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. Survivors include: three sons, Steve (Jenny) Pike, Jerry (Laura) Pike, and Gary (Anna) Pike, all of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jimmy Henry of Valley. Pallbearers will be Collin Pike, Justin Pike, Patrick Pike, Stevan Pike, Jason Pike, Jody Pike, Rhett Kirby, and Darden Arrington. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Pike was born on February 28, 1930, the daughter of Wyatt and Molly Mitchum Henry. She was a member of Forest Home Christian church and was a retired store manager for Waller Dress Shop. Mrs. Pike was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Pike; and 15 brothers and sisters.
