Obituary of Annie Kate Knight

Funeral services for Annie Kate Knight, age 90, of Wadley, will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from Corinth Christian Church (341 County Road 833, Wadley, AL) with Rev. Phil Gore and Rev. Ricky Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 19th. Miss Knight will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 10:00 am on Thursday. Miss Knight died on Sunday, March 16th at East Alabama Medical Center. Survivors include two sisters, Mae Knight Parrish and Betty Knight Brooks both of Wadley; one brother, O.C. Knight of Wadley; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews. Pallbearers will be Miss Knight's nephews. Miss Knight was born on June 9, 1923, daughter of Arthur Oliver and Mary Etta Stephens Knight. She was a member of Corinth Congregational Christian Church and had worked as a vice president of Johnson Motors in LaGrange for 50 years. She was also a member of Corinth Homemakers Club. Miss Knight was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Goldie Knight Wellborn and Resa Knight Gore; two brothers, John Mitchell Knight and Earnest Clifton Knight.
