Obituary of Coy D. Bailey

Graveside services for Coy D. "Buck" Bailey, age 94, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Steve Dean officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 AM on Saturday, March 22nd. Mr. Bailey passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Bill Nichols' Veterans Home in Alexander City. Survivors include: one daughter, Susan (husband, Gary) Nelson of Roanoke; two grandsons, Jeffery Nelson and Chris Nelson; three great-grandsons, Rush, Reid, and Ridge Nelson; one sister, Mildred Bonner of Rock Mills; one brother, John Bailey of Columbus, GA; and several nieces and nephews. A Talladega County native, Mr. Bailey was born on August 29, 1919, the son of John Grover and Viola McElevy Bailey and lived most of his life in Rock Mills and Roanoke. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy, a member of Golden Springs Baptist Church, and was a salesman with Liberty National Insurance Company. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents.
