Obituary of Jack Harold Irvin

Funeral services for Jack Harold Irvin, age 85, of Roanoke, will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 3:00 pm from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30 pm on Sunday. Mr. Irvin died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn. Survivors include his wife, Mary Harris Irvin of Roanoke; one son, Ronnie Irvin (Patsy) of Roanoke; one daughter, Jane Irvin Anthony (Donnie) of Roanoke; five grandchildren Leigh I. Smith (James), Russell Irvin (Ashley), Susan Irvin, Lew Anthony (Leigh), Liz A. Hadaway (Will); three great-grandchildren, Mason Overton, Daniel Smith, and Collins Irvin; a special nephew, Sam Harris, his daughter Courtney H. Sharma (Sunil), her children Samantha and Chandler. Pallbearers will be Lew Anthony, Russell Irvin, James Smith, Sunil Sharma, Will Hadaway, and Randy Moore. A long-time Roanoke resident, Mr. Irvin was born May 11, 1928, the son of William E. and Annie B. Langley Irvin. He was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and a partner of OK Tire Store. Mr. Irvin was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eleanor I. Rufty; five brothers, Langley Irvin, Julian Irvin, Ned Irvin, Bill Irvin, Terry Irvin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Roanoke First United Methodist Church (PO Box 40, Roanoke, AL 36274).
