Waymon L. Taft, age 67, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Trude Cauthen Taft of Roanoke; one son, Steven D. Taft of Roanoke; one grandchild, Kaylee R. Taft; two sisters, Brenda Taft Barnett (Howard) of Sylacauga and Judy Taft House of Roanoke; and one brother, Billy Ray Taft of Roanoke.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Taft was born on January 31, 1947, the son of William Ray and Bernice Stillwell Taft. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and worked for the Roanoke Telephone Company. Mr. Taft was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert E. Taft.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Life Choice Hospice or First United Methodist Church of Roanoke.
