Obituary of Jesse Ray McManus

OBITUARY Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Ray "J.R." McManus, Sr., of LaGrange, GA, age 88, will be held Friday, February 19, 2010, at 1:00 pm CST from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Philip Heard officiating. Burial to follow in Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 pm CST on Friday, February 19, 2010. Mr. McManus died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Hospice LaGrange. Survivors include his wife, Loette Fincher McManus of LaGrange, GA; one son, Jesse Ray "Jay" McManus, Jr. of County Down, Northern Ireland; three grandchildren, Carlyn Evans Stinson of Prattville, Al, Shanda Evans Roberson of Longmont, CO, Ginny Hewitt Luther of Savannah, GA; eight great grandchildren; four brothers, Marshall McManus of Phenix City, AL, Burns McManus of LaGrange, GA, Murphy McManus of Breman, GA, Bayward McManus of Jonesboro, GA. Pallbearers will be Bayward McManus, Murphy McManus, Frank Bailey, Dale Evans, Bob Hester and Eric Stinson. Mr. McManus was born January 23, 1922, the son of Amos and Linnie Washington McManus. He was a member of Southwest LaGrange Baptist Church, retired from Mountville Mills, and served in the United States Navy during WWII. Mr. McManus was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Diane McManus Evans; two brothers; one sister.
