Funeral services for Cooper Perry, age 75, of Roanoke, will be held Friday, May 23, 2014, at 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Burns, Rev. James B. Perry, and Rev. Gary Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 22nd. Mr. Perry will lie in state for one hour at the church on Friday prior to services beginning at 10:00 am.
Mr. Perry died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, June Perry of Roanoke; one son, Chad Perry (wife, Lyn) of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Claudia Perry and Cooper Perry both of Roanoke; three brothers, Gary Perry (wife, Brenda) of Fredonia, James B. Perry (wife, Bessie) of Demopolis, and John Thomas Perry (wife, Shirley) of Opelika.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Gray, Fred Frank, Fred Hill, Tommy Fincher, Terry Simpson, and Buck Norred. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Christian, Mike Ford, Henry Collier, Lee LaFollette, and Terry Lambert.
Mr. Perry was born June 22, 1938, in Randolph County, the son of James and Martha Ellen Williamson Perry. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had been employed as a design engineer with West Point Foundry. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rebecca Perry Simpson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Trinity Baptist Church Family Life Center (PO Box 705, Roanoke, AL 36274).
