Funeral services for Voyed Milton "Nick" Nichols, age 73, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
Mr. Nichols passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, in Wedowee, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Scarlett Fuller Nichols of Roanoke; one daughter, Jody (husband, Robert) Reid of Dacula, GA; one son, Voyed Milton "Milt" Nichols, Jr. (wife, Joy); six grandchildren; his mother, Lucile Corley Nichols of Roanoke; and one sister, Nell Wright of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Bernard Fuller, Robert Reid, Corbin Stone, Doug Wylie, David Edwards, and Rick Willis.
A Troup County native, Mr. Nichols was born on July 27, 1940, the son of Voyed Mason and Lucile Corley Nichols. He was a United States Navy Veteran and was a service technician for BellSouth in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Nichols was a loving husband, a wonderful family man, and an avid animal lover. He was preceded in death by his father and his first wife, Norma Stone Nichols (1992).
