Obituary of Willie Cedric Brown

OBITUARY Funeral services for Mr. Willie Cedric "Joe Jokey" Brown, of Roanoke, age 60, will be held Thursday, February 25, 2010, at 2:00 pm from the Saint Paul Baptist Church with Rev. William Phillips officiating. Mr. Brown will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Burial to follow in Skyview Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Friends may view at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Mr. Brown died Friday, February 19, 2010 at West Georgia Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Foster Brown of Roanoke; two daughters, Tammy (husband Germon) Swain of Atlanta, GA, Brandy Brown of LaGrange, GA; two sons, Cedric Brown of Roanoke; Terrance Brown of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Doris Virginia Brown of Mountville, GA; three sisters, Christine (husband John) Dallas of Atlanta, GA; Joann (husband Leon) Bray of Mountville, GA, Barbara (husband Alford) Price of Mountville, GA; one brother, George (wife Vera) Truitt of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mr. Brown's high school graduating class of 1968. Mr. Brown was born August 30, 1949, the son of Willie L. and Doris Virginia Truitt Brown. He was a member of the Saint Paul Baptist Church and had been a truck driver for Interstate Trucking. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his father; one son, Dexter Brown; two brothers, Tim and Jerry Brown.
