Obituary of Tony Lamar Tomblin

Graveside services for Tony Lamar Tomblin, age 60, of Wadley will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Wadley Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Sprayberry officiating. Mr. Tomblin passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Tomblin of Wadley; one sister, Debra Janes of Wadley; one brother, Steven Tomblin (wife, Katie) of Wadley; beloved niece, Haley Tomblin; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Craig Elliott, Tommy Hicks, Jimmy Clark, Jerry Hall, Mike Spivey, Benny Wheeler, and Jack Spears. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Graham, Mark Spivey, Robbie Abney, and Paden Abney. A Canton, Georgia native, Mr. Tomblin was born on October 19, 1953, the son of Billy Lamar and Evelyn Graham Tomblin. He was Methodist by faith and was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Atlanta for several years prior to moving to Wadley where he worked in dispatch with J-Par Trucking. Mr. Tomblin was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Claude and Jewell Tomblin; maternal grandparents, Bert and Fern Graham; and stepgrandmother, Elvie Graham. The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, requests donations be made to Mt. Springs Baptist Church, Hands of Hope, 15191 County Rd 62, Wadley, AL 36276, or the charity of one's choice.
