Obituary of Frankie Lee Owens

Funeral services for Frankie Lee Owens, Sr., age 56, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Shannon Mapp officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2014. Mr. Owens will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday. Mr. Owens passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Survivors include: one daughter, Andrea Scott of Roanoke; three sons, Lee (wife, Angel) Owens of Delta, David (wife, Kristy) Owens of Rock Stand, and Jared Owens of LaGrange, GA; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Janice Hale and Martha Puckett of Franklin, GA, and Sherry Henry of Rock Mills; and one brother, Mike Owens of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be David Mapp, Johnathan Mapp, Lon Howard, Bobby Norred, Wesley Puckett, Adam Henry, and Kenneth Henry. A Roanoke native, Mr. Owens was born on July 18, 1958, the son of Frank Junior and Hazel Mapp Owens. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was a logger with Billy Mapp Logging. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathy Holden.
