Obituary of Danny Carl Cook

Funeral services for Danny Carl Cook, age 67, of Wadley will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Derek Farr officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, July 28, 2014. Mr. Cook passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Wedowee Hospital in Wedowee, Alabama. Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Lynn Caldwell of Alex City; two sons, Brian Keith Cook (wife, Jennifer) of Opelika, and Jessie Cook (wife, Megan) of Daviston; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Young (husband, Tommy Gene) of Roanoke. A Randolph County native, Mr. Cook was born on March 7, 1947, the son of Jesse Carl and Sara Jewell Chase Cook. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a self-employed truck driver. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margie Cook; and two brothers, Benny Cook and Tim Cook. The family will accept flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors.
