Obituary of Mary Jim Young Hand

Funeral services for Mary Jim Hand, age 70, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Puckett officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Mrs. Hand passed away Thursday, August 7 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. Survivors include: one stepdaughter, Crissy Johnson (husband, Jay) of Memphis, TN; two sons, Joseph Chad Green (wife, Brianna) and Darrick Bryant Green (wife, Brandy), both of Roanoke; one stepson, Billy Joe Green, Jr.; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jasper Dubose, Leavere Brown, Scott Holloway, Phillip Roberts, Billy Joe Green, Jr., and Chad Green. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Hand was born on October 16, 1943, the daughter of James Robert and Mary Lee Shelnutt Young. She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church and was retired from Amoco Fabrics. Mrs. Hand was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Billy Joe Green; her second husband, Jimmy Frank Hand; one stepdaughter, Kathy Ann Green; two sisters, Eris Sessions and Faye Daniel; and one brother, William Young.
