Funeral services for Alice Mae Brewer, age 80, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Benefield and Rev. Mike Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, August 15, 2014. Mrs. Brewer passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at East Alabama Medical Center. Survivors include: two daughters, Linda Frosolono (husband, Gary) and Janice Wright (husband, Gary), both of Roanoke; two sons, Mike Brewer (wife, Becky) and Freddy Brewer (special friend, Tammy), both of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lottie Pilgrim and Hazel Calhoun, both of Roanoke; and two brothers, Herman Lashley of Wadley and Bobby Lashley of Ft. Lauderdale. Pallbearers will be Steven Sledge, Chris Cox, Keith Brewer, Matthew Brewer, Cory Brewer, and Charles Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Herb Burgess and Tim Pilgrim. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Brewer was born on June 23, 1934, the daughter of John Robert and Lena Ruth Worthy Lashley. She was a member of Midway Full Gospel Church and had worked at Handley Mills and Wehadkee Mills. Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Ford Brewer; one daughter, Mary Alice Brewer; one grandson, Chad Pike; and one brother, James Lashley. The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Midway Full Gospel Church, 265 County Road 706, Roanoke, AL 36274.
